What is UV Printing?

UV printing is the process of curing, or drying, specially-formulated inks using ultra-violet light. The chemical recipe of UV ink is formulated to quickly solidify when exposed to UV light, providing a cooler, safer, and more stable output, allowing end-users to print on a wider variety of materials with increased yield and reduced operating costs. UV LED improves on the existing process by emitting light in a narrow wavelength, as opposed to mercury lamps, which produce light across a much wider bandwidth. The narrow output allows for closely matching individual LED characteristics with other components to maximize the total UV energy, without generating unneeded emissions. That efficiency translates into approximately 80% power and heat savings over mercury based lamps.
