Technology: UV LED Curing Technology Goes Mainstream
Over 30 vendors display UV LED curing solutions at Drupa, with over 20 ink partners to support them
Visitors from around the world attended DRUPA’s Print and Media Fair 2012 held May 3rd through May 16th, 2012 in Düsseldorf, Germany. Among many new and very diverse printing innovations, UV LED curing technology was widely presented as the desired curing technology for present and future UV printing needs.
Over 30 vendors displayed equipment showcasing the UV LED benefits of reduced heat transfer to substrate, quieter operation, elimination of ozone and ventilation, and economic savings. Reinforcing the rapid development of UV LED curing systems, over 20 ink and material vendors touted their own support and ability to formulate for LED. In addition, booth traffic was at an all-time high for vendors specifically exhibiting printers installed with UV LED curing systems.
